Sherwood Forest is located in southern Transylvania County, North Carolina.  We are 8 miles south of Brevard, NC and 1 mile west of Cedar Mountain, NC.

Transylvania County is called the "Land of Waterfalls", as there are over 200 named waterfalls in the county, and countless more smaller, unnamed ones.  Transylvania, as well as surrounding counties, abound with outdoor recreation opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding.

Some of the nearby recreation areas include Dupont State Forest, Pisgah National Forest, Gorges State Park, Green River Gamelands, Caesars Head State Park, Jones Gap State Park.
